Singer Monica Gets Nail Polish Line

Monica is adding to her list of things to be proud about...new husband, beautiful children, singing career and now nail polish line.

According to reports, Monica just inked a deal with Orly to create her own line of nail polish.  This deal is in conjunction with her cousin and is said to be called, "Nail Inspirations."  Each color will come with an inspirational quote printed on the bottle and Monica hopes this will encourage the buyer to remain focused throughout life's many challenges.

The nail polish line will be available this summer.

Congratulations to Monica on everything!  I've been revamping my style lately, so I can't wait to see the shades.

Nicki Minaj Cares For Her Fans...Takes the Boot For Them

I'm not a fan of Nicki Minaj's music, but I respect her hustle as an artist.  Nicki is/was in the UK promoting her platinum debut album, Pink Friday and things weren't going her way.  First, she had to cancel a surprise performance at the Runway nightclub due to a brawl and then she gets booted from her suite at Dorchester Hotel.

According to reports, Nicki's fans had been loitering around and singing lyrics to her songs, which was unusual behavior for this upscale hotel.  After numerous failed attempts to get the fans to leave, hotel management gave Nicki the boot!

She tweeted, "U can't have me w/o my barbz! We're a packaged deal!!!! U James Blunt!!!! (Cockney slang for cunt) lmaooooooooo. I'm in the Ukaaaayyyy!!!!!"

Nicki has gained my respect.  A lot of artists sometime forget that it is their fans that allows them to have a career.

Kreative Poll: My Side of the Bed

I'm a person of rituals and routines.  I have a certain way I do everything and I even have my own side of the bed. No matter where my husband and I sleeps, I have to sleep on the right side of the bed.  Of course, he doesn't mind and I couldn't imagine wanting to end my marriage because of it, but...

I was listening to a conversation recently and this lady was complaining about how her new relationship was going well, but there was just one issue...her side of the bed.  She says that she can't get any rest and is a little hesitant to say something, because she doesn't want to seem like a nag.  On the other hand, she has been making excuses about having class and other things, so that the guy could stay at his place and she can get a good night's rest.

So, I thought I would poll you guys...Would a certain side of the bed ruin your relationship?

Wendy Williams To Host Game Show

According to Associated Press, my favorite talk show host, Wendy Williams, is set to become a game show hostess as well. Scheduled for an April 18th debut, “Love Triangle” will find Wendy playing adviser to guests trying to choose one relationship over another. The show has been described as a cross between a game show and a talk show and will be air on the Game Show Network.

Wendy is making major moves.  Her current daytime talk show has been renewed for a third season and now she and hubby, Kevin Hunter, are co-producers of this new show.

Congratulations, Wendy! "How you doing?"

Are You Thankful For Your Spouse/Mate?

The other day while praying and having my time with God, I realized how lucky I was to be married and have a family that I love and loves me back. A lot of people will never experience this in their lifetime.

With my love-filled heart, I crawled into bed and watched my husband sleep and all of the reasons why I love him ran through my head. I thought of his faithfulness, his honesty, his compromises, his respectfulness, his reliability and last but not least his patience, because Lord knows I am not the easiest person to get along with. During my deep thoughts, I couldn’t remember the last time I thanked him for all that he does for our family, so I did just that…I thanked my husband.

A lot of women and men complain about their spouse/mate more than they compliment them. There are a lot of men/women who have good spouses/mates, but can’t remember the last time they thanked them, hugged them extra tight, or passionately kissed them.

If you have an awesome spouse/mate, don’t wait another minute; tell them how thankful you are for the things they do for you.

Will Megan Good Replace Brittany Daniel (Kelly Pitts) on The Game?

Last week, while watch the opening credits on BET's hit show The Game, Brittany Daniel's name came up as a guest appearance.  The nosey side of me began to dig into this story and I found out that Brittany Daniel's character, Kelly Pitts, has been demoted on the show.

According to an interview Daniel did with Vibe Magazine last November, she revealed that she will only be in six episodes and she seemed a little pissy about the money difference between the two networks.
“I was a series regular before and now I’m just a reoccurring character on the show. We did 13 episodes and I’m just contracted to do six”
Megan Good appeared in the first episode as the Saber's owner wife and Malik Wright's new girl toy and word on the streets is she will be replacing Kelly Pitts and become a show regular.

What are your thoughts?  Will the show be the same without Kelly Pitts?  Will Megan Good make a good addition to the show.

Let's Stay Together May Not StaY

BET premiered another sitcom last night, Let's Stay Together.  I watched with anticipation that the storyline would get better, but it didn't.

The show centers around two couples and one single woman. Tasha and Jamal are married. Charles  and Stacy are engaged and Charles’ sister Kita hangs out with the crew.

In last night's episode, Stacy runs into Charles' ex (Eva Pigford) and learns that she had once been proposed to with the ring she was given.  Jamal revisits his dreams of becoming a musician by performing with Kita at a restaurant.

The premiere had potential, but the writers didn't take full advantage of them.  If this episode is any indication of the rest of the season, then Let's Stay Together will only be together one season.

Did you watch the premiere?  Did you like it?  What are your thoughts/views?

BET's "The Game" Season 4 Episode 1 Recap

The highly anticipated sports sitcom, The Game, returned to television last night on its new network, BET.  Like many of you, I was glued to the television and gave my two cents on the season premiere via Twitter, but here's my take on the show.

The show started off slow and something about the acting and new set didn't seem right, but the writers didn't let me down and it all came together and had me feening for next week's episode.

Melanie and Derwin are married and seem to have this picture perfect life, but there is one minor speck - lil' D.J., Derwin's child with Janae.  Melanie's insecurity along with Tasha Mack's two cents gets the best of her and she gets a DNA test without Derwin's knowledge.  The baby in the end turns out to be Derwin's baby after an error in testing.

Tasha Mack, who continues to be the same loud mouth sports agent to Malik and Derwin, has her paws in this young tender thing played by Terrance J (106 & Park).  She has taken Derwin's career to the next level, but seems like she is on the same road with ruining relationships with men.

Malik Wright returned as the same ladies man, but has stepped it up a bit.  The writers have managed
to make him the worst guy ever...sleeping with the owner's wife and smashing his ex-assistant (Tee Tee) girl.

Jason and Kelli's story lines are extremely boring.  Jason has missed every day of training camp, because he is holding out for a better contract.  He and Kellie are divorced and Kelli is playing out their failed marriage while filming her very own reality show, Ex Baller Wives.  She is bitter about her divorce and unbearable to watch.

The season opener has me awaiting the rest of the season.

What are your views on the first episode?  Will Melanie come clean about the paternity test? Will Malik get caught by the owner?  What was your favorite story line?

Made for Television: Taken From Me: The Tiffany Rubin Story

The other night while watching “The Craigslist Killer” on Lifetime, I saw a preview for one of Lifetime’s movies, “Taken From Me: The Tiffany Rubin Story” starring Taraji Henson. In my head, Taraji is one of my best friends and I love her work.  She has been doing her thang on the screen for a long time.

“Taken” tells the story of Tiffany Rubin, an African American school teacher from Queens, NY, who travels to South Korea to try and rescue her son who was taken there by his father, whom she was in a bitter custody battle with. Tiffany’s ex-husband was a native of South Korea and during a scheduled weekend visit whisked their son Kobe off to his homeland. With very little money and no help from the American authorities, Tiffany eventually hooked up with Mark Miller, the founder of the American Association for Lost and Stolen Children. Together they traveled to Seoul and discovered Kobe was going to school in a neighboring town. After a careful planning, one day Rubin went into her son’s school and was able to snatch him. The two, along with Miller, ran to the U.S. Embassy before being able to return home safely.

"Taken From Me: The Tiffany Rubin Story’ premieres Monday, January 31st at 9pm/8pm.

Is Flirting and/or Conversing Cheating?

I have had this conversation with some of my friends and they all have different views.

I feel when you flirt or carry on extensive conversations with a person; you are allowing them to think you are open to possibly doing other things. Many times, men and women see this as harmless fun and forget the risks they are taking.  A smile here or a few long conversations/texts there can lead to a quick meeting in a secluded area with a person who isn’t your significant other.

If you are married or in a committed relationship and want to remain that way, do not flirt or hold extensive juicy conversations with others…it is cheating!

What do you think readers? Is flirting and/or conversing cheating?

T.I. Gets In Trouble In Prison

While listening to the Rickey Smiley Morning Show this morning, I heard that T.I. was in trouble with prison officials for allowing Tiny to use him a “slot machine.”

So I did some research and found the scoop over at TMZ.  According to them, Tiny and T.I. wandered away from view to get a little more up close and personal and were caught by a prison guard.  After being caught, T.I. was immediately reprimanded and sent to a “Special Housing Unit”–which consists of more security and less freedom.

Tiny says she hasn’t spoken to T.I. since the incident–but she’s hopeful she’ll be allowed to visit again soon…as long as she keeps her hand to herself.

As crazy as this may sound, I love T.I. and Tiny as a couple, because they are always consistent. Their “hood rich” relationship has gotten them into a lot of trouble with the law, but somehow keeps them closer.

What's Your New Year's Resolution?

Happy New Year! The ball has dropped and 2010 has ended. You now have a chance at a fresh start and have put a plan into action towards achieving your New Year’s Resolutions. Like many of you, I too have set goals for this year and have begun my journey to accomplishing them. The real question is: will we finish strong?

I have decided to give my readers and myself some encouragement throughout the year, so that we will finish strong. Each month I will do a check-up post on your journey in satisfying your resolutions. I will update you on my status and I would like for you to comment and leave me your updates.

My resolutions are as follow: work on my marriage, change my lifestyle (weight, eating habits, etc.), and enroll in a doctorate program.

Marriage: My marriage has not been completely blissful and I can’t say that it is a complete bust, but it can stand some work. My husband and I both are carrying past hurts (weight) and are blocking our future blessings (living life happily daily). I have decided to truly drop that dead weight and let God steer me towards forgiveness and a better marriage.

Lifestyle Changes: As I previous stated, I am carrying weight of past hurts and need to shed those unwanted thoughts. Also, over the years I have become too comfortable in the skin I am in and have over indulged in the foods that I love so much without any daily exercise. Due to my bad eating habits and the quick stops at fast-food restaurants, I am on the road to hypertension (high blood pressure) and my cholesterol is high.

Obtaining my Doctorate: Over the last few years, I have enrolled in two doctoral programs, which I haven’t completed. I feel I have reached my peak inside the classroom and know that I can serve the students best by teaching teachers to better present meaningful and fun lessons. Therefore, I have challenged myself to begin a program by spring.

Alright KT readers, it’s on you. What old habits did you leave in 2010? What resolutions will guide you into a successful lifestyle? Leave me a comment and I will check up on you in a month. Good luck and with God all is possible.
