Bloggers: Do they influence you?

I believe this…I agree to that…I cosign too…don’t start beefs between…and the list goes on. These are the beginnings to comments that I’ve seen.

While doing my usual perusal of several sites today, I noticed that the majority of readers of blogs are so willing to agree with the author.

At one site, there was an article about a pastor and the author of the site stated their personal opinion about that topic and all of the comments that followed agreed. I was in awe, because I was thinking, do they really feel this way or were they influenced by the blogger’s opinion?

At my next stop, I read an article, where the blogger was merely reporting facts and insisting that the readers listen to the interview for themselves and draw their own conclusion, but all of the comments that followed were negative. The readers obviously did not like what they heard/read and were livid. They were complaining in the comment section that the blogger was trying to beef up a situation and get the readers to believe what was written.

After my trip around blogosphere, I began thinking…are readers of blogs that gullible, do they really believe half the stuff that bloggers write. Then, I thought…do we as bloggers intentionally write certain things to persuade our readers like an advertisement…certainly not, right?

So, here are the questions that I pose…Are you influenced by bloggers? Do you think bloggers write certain post to get a response from readers?

RHOA Season 3, Episode 1: Recap, My Thoughts & Views

Last night, Real Housewives of Atlanta season three premiered and like many of you, I was very excited to see what the old housewives have been up to and what class or lack there of the new housewives would bring.  To say the least, the premiere wasn't what I expected, but here is my thoughts on each cast member:

NeNe Leakes:  NeNe is still being NeNe, new nose and all. She has amped up her obnoxious behavior to keep from getting axed like Lisa, but really?  She begins the season off by pretending  to patch things up with Kim, while still talking ish about her to other cast members.  She also reveals to Kim that she and Greg are having marital issues, which I dismiss, because again she is trying not to get axed.  However, I do feel for her when she said she wants to get back to a happy place and resume a life of normalcy.  The icing on the cake was when NeNe gets all up in Dwight's face at the shoe party about a comment that Dwight made about loaning Greg $10,000.  I expected drama this season, but not this early. NeNe really did not act like a lady and if she watched last night's episode, then she should be ashamed.  Women who respects themselves and others do not act that way.  And before you guys jump on me, I understand that every now and again, we all lose our tempers, but there is a better way of handling issues.

Sheree Whitfield:  Sheree is attempting to remain relevant.  She is now wanting to be an actress.  First, she's a fashionista with a clothing line, a work-out freak with an exercise tape coming soon, and now she's an actress.  (Yawns) She doesn't know what she wants to be, but she is holding tight to her ex-husband's, Bob Whitfield, name. She also claims that Bob is a dead beat dad, who doesn't support his children. Sheree is also pissy with Dwight for telling folk that he put $30,000 into a fashion show for a clothing line that doesn't exist anymore.  Oh and how could I forget her new sidekick, Lawrence.  He and Sheree seems to have grown closer and have joined together to bash Dwight and the other housewives.

Kim Zolciak:  *Long Sigh* Kim is just an attention seeking bish.  She engages in a sexual relationship with a woman during the off season and gives an interview to a magazine about it to continue to be the "conversation piece" among her friends. She talks about this relationship with NeNe during their fake attempt at being friends again.  Being the good mother that she is, Kim claims to instill "good values and morals" in her daughter, but she says on national television that she has been "chasing peen" since birth.  #Ican'ttakeKim

Kandi Burrus:  Kandi seems to be the only housewife in last night's episode to escape the drama. She is now dating Willis, a NFL player and seems to have moved on to the next one after the passing of her fiance, AJ.  She is rocking a new hair doo and looks like she has added on a few pounds.  Kandi expressed to her new boo that she is in a bet with a friend and she is abstaining from sex.  Willis shyly asks if oral sex was excluded and Kandi responded, "No!"

Phaedra Parks:  In Phaedra's debut on the show, she has already proven to be the drama-filled, fake bish that is setting out to take NeNe's place on the show.  Phaedra is really showing her acting skills, because she did not act like a snob on Tiny & Toya.  Nonetheless, she has teamed up with Dwight and is really joining in on the ish talking and back stabbing that Bravo insists that their casts do.  She is the southern belle with a jacked attitude and no class.

Cynthia Bailey:  She was a no show on the first episode.

Dwight:  The unofficial housewife is no longer best buds with NeNe and is telling everyone that he helped fund Sheree's fashion show.  With the help of newcomer, Phaedra, he manages to talk ish about Sheree and NeNe and almost gets his azz whipped by NeNe.  "I am a tiger and I will fight" - Dwight

Episode 1 was sort of disappointing, I can't believe that this is the image that Bravo sees of black housewives in Atlanta.  I'm not sure if I will continue to watch this season, but time will tell.

Update: Where have I been and what I've been up to?

I'm sure a lot of you have checked this site many times over the last few months and wondered...Hmmm, where is Lakeshia....well, I'm still around, living.  Here's what I've been up to over the last few months:

Summer Break came and went and I'm back in the swing of being wifey, mommy, sister, friend, and teacher.  Summer was good, but it went by TOO fast.  My family and I enjoyed our time together and we visited Pompano Beach and Miami, where we enjoyed fishing, swimming, and the beach.

School started back and my princess started first grade and turned 6. I began my ninth year teaching high school mathematics and decided it was time for a new look, so I cut my hair.  I have received so many complements and I love it, but most of all my hubby loves it, too!

Time seems to be moving fast and I've decided to live each day to the fullest without any regrets.  Also, I've decided to just blog what I feel and about my day-to-day activities without any worries that someone will read them and pass judgement.  With that being said, here it goes...
