Music Meets Politics: Ludacris & Chaka Zulu Host Reception For Senator Kasim Reed

Grammy award winning artist, actor and philanthropist Christopher ‘Ludacris’ Bridges and music mogul and philanthropist Chaka Zulu have joined forces to formally throw their support behind Atlanta mayoral candidate, State Senator Kasim Reed. They hosted a celebrity fundraiser to bring the political and entertainment communities behind their candidate of choice. The event was last night and held at Ludacris' restaurant Straits in Midtown.

Senator Reed was recently endorsed by Congressman Hank Johnson (D-Georgia), Creative Loafing, The Sunday Paper, the American Federation of State County and Municipal Employees (AFSCME) and former Atlanta Mayor, Ambassador Andrew Young.

Other hosts of the event included Atlanta Hawks player Jamal Crawford, James Dubose, Sean Garret and Gee Roberson.

Tyler Perry Is Pissed Off

Tyler Perry was on "60 Minutes" last night and he discussed everything from his horrific childhood in New Orleans to how he owns his empire and how he gets his characters to talk about God, love, relationships, and other things.  Of course he speaks on Spike Lee's comments about his characters being "coonery" and  "bufoonery."
“I would love to read that [criticism] to my fan base. All these characters of mine are bait, bait to get people talking about God, love, family, and faith. That pisses me off. It is so insulting.” - Tyler Perry
I think it is just pure hate on Spike's part.  I mean here is a guy who turns nothing into something on his own and you have others who can't share in your blessings.  On the contrary, Spike is entitled to his opinion.  What are your kreative thoughts?

If you missed Tyler's interview watch it below:

LaToya Jackson Fears For Her Life

LaToya Jackson is fearing for her life - claiming someone is out to kill her.  She claims she knows an ish load of information pertaining to her brother, Michael Jackson's death.

According to sources, LaToya says she has been targeted for death by the same people who killed Michael because he is worth more dead than alive.

I am not sure if I believe her, because I feel it was just Michael's time to die, but you can read more about LaToya's allegations below:

Soulja Boy Arrested

Is it me or does every celebrity thinks it is cool to be arrested? Does that give them some kind of street cred or some? I mean come on...Soulja Boy was arrested in Henry County, GA last night after running from the police.

The rapper was in McDonough shooting a video at a house, while police were responding to a call about a group of people hanging out. Soulja Boy ran when police walked up to the house and eventually returned.

Soulja Boy is performing this weekend at Morehouse College.

My Question: Why run, if you aren't guilty of anything?...Soulja Boy, holla at us and give us the scoop!

"The Game" Is Back

I know you guys are happy to hear that BET has officially picked up new episodes of the CW's sitcom, "The Game."

Actress/Songwriter, Drew Sidora dished out the news to S2S earlier this week, “The show is getting picked up, so for people that have been petitioning and wondering, it is coming back to BET. So, hopefully, you will see me back.”

The production of the new shows has not started filming yet and there is speculation that taping may be done in Atlanta.

Whether or not taping comes to Atlanta or not, I am happy the gang will be hitting the tubes, soon!

Michael Vick's Documentary + His Fiance Speaks Out

He's out of prison, back in the NFL, and now Michael Vick is going to star in his own television series.

The quarterback is partnering with BET for a new eight-part TV series scheduled to air early next year. The program, tentatively titled "The Michael Vick Project," spotlights his comeback with the Philadelphia Eagles while also examining his tumultuous past -- including his troubled childhood and his 2007 arrest for running a dogfighting ring.

Vick is aware that the series may do little to alter the negative perception some hold against him.
"I just want people to really get to know me as an individual," Vick said last week in an interview from his home in Philadelphia. "What I want to do is change the perception of me. I am a human being. I've made some mistakes in the past, and I wish it had never happened. But it's not about how you fall, but about how you pick yourself up. All I can ask is that people are receptive and come to this with an open mind," Vick said. "I can't change the past; I can only change the present. I know there are people who can't forget what I did, but I hope they can someday forgive me." - Michael Vick

Jennifer Hudson on Motherhood

After spending the last few months adjusting to being a mom, Jennifer Hudson has finally shown us a photo of Baby David...adorable.

J. Hud told the press that she loves being a mom and her lil' man eats so much. The baby is named after Jennifer's fiance, David Otunga.

“He has a lot of personality, like David. He’s always been a good sleeper. His favorite time to smile now is diaper changes. Or when he spits up on you – he just cracks up like he thinks it’s the funniest thing. And his bottle is his pacifier. With a pacifier, it’s like he knows, ‘Ain’t nothing come out of here. No, I don’t want that. Where’s the real deal?’ His best friend is that bottle; that’s all he wants.” - J. Hud
